Air Connect Namibia proudly welcomes the Airlink’s route expansion connecting Walvis Bay International Airport (WVB) and Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport (JNB), which commenced operations 04 July 2025.
The route expansion enhances Namibia’s regional connectivity, improving access between Namibia’s west coast and one of Africa’s largest aviation and business destinations. Operating twice daily, the Airlink service will strengthen business and tourism potential between South Africa’s economic capital and our country’s coastal region.
“This new Airlink expansion offers travellers improved air access to Walvis Bay and Swakopmund. It is a strategic link that reinforces the Walvis Bay’s role as a Southern African trade, investment and tourism hub,” said Bisey /Uirab, CEO of the Namibia Airports Company (NAC) and spokesperson for Air Connect Namibia. “The commitment demonstrates the continued successes of Air Connect Namibia – and what effective public-private collaboration can achieve in our country.”
Walvis Bay provides access to some of Namibia’s key tourist attractions, such as the Namib Desert, Swakopmund and the Namib-Naukluft National Park; as well as to the country’s logistics and energy sectors. The route is expected to facilitate travel tied to tourism, port operations, logistics, and commerce.
