Description

Primary Purpose of Position:
 
• To undergo training in order to ensure maximum fire and emergency rescue and safety services at the airport,
• To be able to control different classes of firesat and around the airport,
• To be able to ensure compliance with all relevant National and International standards and the legal requirements regarding firefighting and rescue services at the airport,
• To be able to handle accidents and emergencies at the airport.
 
Key performance areas:
 
• Primarily to extinguish hazardous fires that threaten property and civilian or natural populations, and to rescue people from dangerous situations, like burning aircrafts, collapsed or burning buildings or crashed vehicles in and around the airport.
 
Duty stations:
 
• Hosea Kutako International Airport
• Eros Airport
• Walvis Bay Airport
• Ondangwa Airport
• Katima Mulilo Airport
• Luderitz Airport
• Rundu Airport
 
Minimum qualifications and knowledge:
 
• Grade 12 with a minimum of 25 points
• Age 18 - 25 , for people without fire and rescue certifications
• Age 18 and above for people with pre fire and rescue certifications
• Physically and Mentally fit and healthy
• Code C driving Licence, preferably Code CE.
 
Skills and Attributes:
 
• Basic understanding and knowledge of Rescue and Fire Fighting
• Good Communication Skills
• Good Interpersonal Skills
• Willingness to Learn
• Disciplinarian
