CYBERSECURITY INCIDENT AT NAC

16 Mar 2026

Namibia Airports Company (NAC) confirms that on 6 March 2026, a cybersecurity incident was detected affecting certain IT systems. The incident involved unauthorised access to network infrastructure and administrative accounts. Immediate containment measures were implemented, and remediation is currently in progress.

Services were restored and operational disruption has been assessed as limited. At this stage, there is no evidence of data exfiltration, though investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the incident. NAC is working closely with its service providers and cybersecurity partners to strengthen defenses, assess potential risks, and prevent recurrence.

We take the security of our systems and the trust of our stakeholders seriously. Additional safeguards, including enhanced firewall controls, restricted administrative access, and improved monitoring, have already been deployed. NAC will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and operational resilience across all airports.
