Lesenda Mohamed


Lesenda is General Manager: Insurance with the Namibian non-bank Financial Regulator (NAMFISA) and is also currently acting as General Manager: Provident Institutions (Pensions Funds, Medical Aid Funds and Friendly Society).

In 2010, she was attached to the Federal Trade Commission of the United States of America for three months enhancing her regulatory and supervisory experience and skills.

Before joining NAMFISA, Lesenda was with the Competition Authority of South Africa since 2008, where she was Section Head in the Mergers and Acquisitions Division before becoming the Head of International Relations in the Office of the Commissioner.

She holds a B.Com from University of Namibia (UNAM), Honors Degree from the University of Cape Town (UCT), M.Comm (Economics) from Wits University and MBA from GIBS/University of Pretoria. With her vast experience in Regulations and Supervision, Lesenda is tasked to lead the division towards Risk Based Supervision.
